1997 – SLIEDRECHT OFFICE

History
Van Wijngaarden Marine Services has had a ‘home office’ for over 25 years. First in the Jupiterstraat, followed by the Rembrandtstraat and finally at the Zalm, all in Hardinxveld. This changed with the opportunity to purchase a beautiful, characteristic property in Sliedrecht. The majestic office building on the corner of Merwestraat and Middeldiepstraat in Sliedrecht offered more than enough space for the five office employees at that time. Most of the staff worked elsewhere in the world. This number varied from around 20 to 30 individuals. The move to Sliedrecht became a fact on December 1 of this year. On Friday, March 6, 1998, this was cause for an appropriate party. Yet, the acquisition of the new building was not the only reason for this. The naming and commissioning of a new vessel was also celebrated.
