On a beautiful, quiet, warm summer evening, enjoying the view of the 'wadden', two orange dots appear from the direction of Den Oever. AIS has no secrets (when the system is on): they are the VLIESTROOM and the MERWESTROOM.
History
On Monday, June 3, 2019, the Vliestroom and the Merwestroom will correctly report to the Den Helder Traffic Centre. They are given permission to moor at jetty three on the 'Harssens' naval site, alongside the Y8760 / mts 'Patria'. This time no order through DVVO, but through Damen Shipyards Ha., which won the tender for the renovation of the bunker boat built in 1999 at Scheepswerf De Hoop BV / bno. 193 in Schiedam. After consultation with the responsible authorities, the tow leaves within an hour to spend the night at Den Oever. On Tuesday, June 4, at the beginning of the evening, the tow is neatly delivered in Hardinxveld and the project is completed. The men of the 'Inland Shipping Fleet' prepare for the next job on Wednesday, June 5: reclamation work at the Den Breejen shipyard.
